G. Hoenig, Boise Idaho custom made sporting rifle on 98 Mauser Banner commercial action with classic European styling, claw mounted Zeiss 4x32 scope in 7x57 caliber. Showing 24” medium weight barrel, serial #110125 onprewar Mauser action. The gun shows five folding leaf sights from 100 to 500yds. Mounted with European type eyelets for hook swivels. The gun is finely rust-blued with semi-matte finish. The top of the action isknurled and marked with a Mauser banner. The claw mounts show Hoenig’s “GH”. The gun is stocked in select walnut with pronounced grain and finely checkered. Also “Made in Germany” is marked on the prewar floorplate,and the pistol grip cap shows GH cartouche. The gun measures 44-1/2” overall, 13-3/4” from the trigger to the end of the wood, 14-1/2” to the end of the pad. Weighs approx. 8.65lbs with scope. AN excellent combination of caliber, action, and European styling by Mr. Petersen’s favorite American riflemaker. Condition is fine to excellent showing just slight handling and possible test firing since custom order. Nothing not to like about
