G. Frederick Reinhardt Handwritten Letter as Ambassador to the Soviet Union. One page, 10 1/2" x 8"; Dec. 9, 1946.

A letter addressed to Mr. Paul C. Smith, Chief Editor of the San Francisco Chronicle. The letter was written from Moscow, where Reinhardt was stationed as United States Ambassador.

Reinhardt writes, in part:

"This is a belated reply to your letter of September last which reached me at the time of the Telecommunications Conference. At the end of the Conference Oliver Webb came over to the Embassy and has proven himself to be a valued member of my Staff. Thank you for writing about him.

I don't suppose I shall get back to S.F. before another couple of years, but I am looking forward to another such an interesting and pleasant day as we spent together last Spring."
