Vignette at top center of underground mining operation with horses pulling an ore cart, surveyor, and miners working with picks and shovels. There is a small vignette at bottom of a miner with a pick. Orange border and safety print. Uncancelled. 8 x 11." Datelined Butte, Montana. No printer noted. The Furnace Creek Copper Co. Was founded by Patrick Clark and operated in Death Valley, 6.5 miles northwest of Funeral Peak. The little town of Furnace was booming in 1905 and was already deserted by 1907, although its post office operated from 1907-1908. This company, with the Extension in its name, was undoubtedly nearby. VF
