In use with the Italians from 1942 to 1945, the 38/42 is a wartime expedient version of the Modelo 38 SMG, and saw use with both the Axis and Allies during the course of the war. Blade front and 2-leaf notch rear sights, with 2-port muzzle brake, fluted barrel, and model and caliber markings on top of the recoil spring tube. Mechanism is open bolt, with dual triggers for fire control. Smooth pistol grip stock, with forearm grasping grooves and a smooth buttplate. With two magazines. NOTE: This is a fully transferable NFA Class III Firearm currently on a Form 4. You are required to check your state and/or local laws as to whether or not you may own this. Condition: Remanufactured/refinished, with 95% of the refurbished black finish over pitting, and handling marks visible overall. Stock is very good, with a thin crack near the safety switch, chipping near the oversized buttplate and scattered scuffs and dents. Semi-automatic function needs adjustment, otherwise mechanically excellent.
