Leader of Cuba (1901–1973) who was in office from 1940 to 1944 and from 1952 to 1959, at which time he was overthrown by Fidel Castro. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo, inscribed in type to “Mrs. Suzanna Rose Lovett, with best wishes,” and signed underneath in fountain pen. Photo also bears a short pre-printed sentiment in the lower left. In very good condition, with punch holes to left edge, scattered creases and surface marks, some silvering to darker areas, and a bit of irregular ink adhesion to signature. Accompanied by a 1954 TLS from Batista’s offices in Cuba.
