French composer of over thirty operas, best known for La Juive (1799–1862). ALS in French, signed “F. Halevy,” one page, 4.5 x 7.25, July 24, 1860. Letter to a theatre director. In full (translated): “If you would be good enough to give a box of the second line for this evening, you would much oblige your entirely devoted F. Halevy.” In fine condition, with central vertical and horizontal folds and a few light creases. Accompanied by an unsigned original cabinet photo of the composer.
