<B>1855-C G$1 AU55 NGC.</B></I> Unlisted Variety. Although Doug Winter's reference only discusses a single variety for this Charlotte issue, there are actually two different reverse dies identified from the small 9,803 coin mintage. Here the final 5 of the date is situated just to the right of center under the A. Bright yellow-gold surfaces show typical deficiency in strike and rather heavy die clashing about the portrait on the obverse.
