<B>1837 Illustrious Predecessor, Low-19A, HT-33A, MS66 NGC.</B></I> Silver. High R.7. Golden-brown toning drapes the obverse, while the reverse displays more diverse rose, gold, cobalt-blue, and walnut-brown shades. The Low-19 dies are common in copper, but silver examples are extremely rare. The Stack's catalog (lot 67) noted that only four pieces are known, two of which (including the present token) were owned by Ford. The strike is penetrating, and the lack of any detectable marks confirms the extraordinary quality. This piece must have been well cared for since its day of production. For pedigree purposes, this example can be identified by a brief lintmark beneath the center of the lower left donkey leg. Only two Hard Times tokens are met with in silver, Low 19 and Low 62 with the 19 type being much rarer. The reason for the issuance of these tokens in silver has not been explained. They are probably not Bushnell productions.<BR><I>Ex: John J.
