1868 $2 1/2 MS62 PCGS. While the 1868 quarter eagle can be located in XF and AU grades with patience and searching, Mint State coins are difficult to come by. At the MS62 level, for example, PCGS and NGC have seen only six examples, and a solitary coin finer (2/07)! Partially prooflike fields highlight well struck, lightly frosted design features, and yellow-gold lustrous surfaces yield hints of mint-green. Minor handling marks define the grade. Karl Stecher, Sr. purchased this piece from the Guttag Bros. of New York during the 1930s. A Guttag Bros. envelope is included, and has the notes "1868 $2 1/2 Gold Unc Gem."
From The Stecher Collection.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)

Important notice:
