<B>1847-C $2 1/2 AU53 PCGS.</B></I> Variety 8-F. Traces of luster are visible in the recessed areas of this AU53 Charlotte issue, and yellow-gold patination exhibits hints of light green. The design elements are well defined, including virtual fullness in the star centrils. Some inoffensive circulation marks are noted over each side. Purchased in the 1930's at face value by Karl Stecher Sr. from coins turned in by the public as per President Roosevelt's March 9, 1933 directive.
