<B>1841-C $2 1/2 AU50 PCGS.</B></I> This is an important date in the quarter eagle series, perhaps due in part to the rarity of the 1841 Philadelphia Mint issue. This example has pale yellow surfaces with hints of green coloration. The reverse color is slightly richer in appearance. Purchased in the 1930's at face value by Karl Stecher Sr. from coins turned in by the public as per President Roosevelt's March 9, 1933 directive.
