1829 10C Curl Base 2--Scratched--NCS. Good Details. JR-10, R.6. John Reich Collectors Society authors (1984) call this "An extremely rare variety that is one of the rarest in the capped bust series. Finest seen is F-15." A curl base 2 and a small 10C attribute the variety. Light to medium gray fields highlight lighter gray motifs on this specimen. The design elements are well worn, but completely raised from the fields. LIBERTY shows, as does UNUM, albeit weakly. Two or three shallow scratches are visible in the left obverse field, and a couple of short ones are seen to the right of the eagle's neck. No other significant marks are apparent. The light scratches are well toned over, and should not dissuade prospective bidders from giving serious consideration to this elusive variety.
From The Southland Collection.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)

Important notice:</
