1904 G$1 Lewis and Clark MS66 NGC. The Lewis and Clark Centennial Exposition, held in Portland, Oregon in 1905 and the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis were the first two occasions for the issuance of commemorative gold dollars. Interestingly, both of these gold commemoratives were sold on the fairgrounds of their respective expos by Farran Zerbe, a fellow with a lot of pull at the United States Mint who was also present at the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition with a variety of gold tokens and coins. Not only this is a wonderfully preserved Lewis and Clark, but as can be deduced from the star designation, the eye appeal of this Premium Gem is nothing short of extraordinary. Radiant, almost mark-free surfaces are cloaked in beautiful orange patina. Census: 4 in 66 Star, 1 finer (12/06).
From The Prinzi Trust Collection.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
