1903 G$1 Louisiana Purchase/McKinley MS66 PCGS. According to Swiatek and Breen (1990): "Originally the gold dollars were only to portray Jefferson as the president in charge when the territory was sold to the United States. In the meantime, President McKinley, who had signed the Exposition into law as of March 3, 1901, was assassinated at another Exposition in September 1901. Through some unrecorded agreement, a new obverse die portraying McKinley was struck." Beautifully deep red-gold, orange, and mint-green toning adorns the shimmering, frosty surfaces of this splendid Premium Gem. The surfaces are virtually pristine, except for a few faint, mint-made die lines and lint marks.
From The Prinzi Trust Collection.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
