1945 10C MS66 Full Bands NGC. The hectic production schedule of the Philadelphia Mint during the early 1940s and the sizeable number of coins produced explain the conditionally rare status of the 1945 Mercury dime. This issue has an original mintage of 159.1 million pieces, but Full Bands examples account for only 3% of all Mint State survivors. Needless to say, sharply struck, pristine 1945 examples are among the more highly prized coins in this 20th century series. The present Premium Gem is one of only six coins to receive an MS66 Full Bands rating from NGC, and it is bettered by only one piece (1/07). A few speckles of mottled red-russet color intermingle with coruscant mint frost to present extraordinary eye appeal. From the standpoint of technical quality, this coin is also superior, and the strike is bold everywhere with fully split central crossbands. A smooth example for the collector who will accept nothing but the best for their collection.
From The Frank J.
