<B>1919-D 10C MS65 Full Bands NGC.</B></I> While a common coin in circulated grades, the 1919-D is rarely encountered in Gem condition and with fully detailed crossbands. This is true for all 1919-D coinage (except the cent) and gives this issue the cachet of an instantly recognizable key or semi-key issue whenever encountered. With the Mercury dime, this is difficult to explain as almost 10 million pieces were struck. It is the combination of high grade and full bands that makes the 1919-D a key issue, and as such it brings a very high price whenever it is offered in public auction. This piece is brilliant and has satiny mint luster. Light metal flow is seen in the fields, giving the coin a slight matte-like appearance. There are no obvious abrasions on either side of this splendid example. Census: 6 in 65, 0 finer (1/07).<BR><I>From The Frank J.
