1832 H10C MS66 PCGS. V-2, LM-12, R.2. Repunching shows on stars 12 and 13, with the latter extremely close to the hair curl. The E in STATES is low, and AM in AMERICA is joined. This is a fairly common die pairing, but seldom found in such superb condition. This Premium Gem example boasts pristine, richly toned surfaces with an amalgam of olive-green, smoke-gray, copper-orange, and russet on each side. This piece is exceedingly well struck, with full star radials and bold detailing on the highpoints of Liberty's hair and most of the eagle's legs and claws. The softness on the azures, or horizontal shield lines, is not to be mistaken for strike weakness: it is the result of a bulging die, and always seen on this variety. It is doubtful that a more aesthetically pleasing example could be found. Worthy of specialist attention.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
