This just shy of one hundred piece collection starts with (1) a check register from the Donovan Reduction Works in Silver City. Includes wages, purchases, and tailings received. Next we have (2) seven legal documents to sell or lease tailing and mining properties to individuals and companies from Donovan. (3) Then the American Railway Express Company receipts fro Carson city (one with a non-cancelled cover) shows the method and cost to ship this bullion to the San Francisco Mint. (4) over 15 affidavits from Donovan to the US Mint guaranteeing the accuracy of the shipment. We then have 18 Reports on Bullion deposited with the Mint of the United States at San Francisco from the Donovan Reduction Works in Silver City. Also included are (6) various miscellaneous documents including a Wells Fargo Bank & Union Trust Co. credit from the U. S. Mint to Donovan, Virginia City Bank check, Trimble Mill receipt, letterhead for the Treasury Department/Mint of the United States/Assayer in Charge, etc. Finally there are (7) Notification of payment from the U. S. Mint to Donovan. This marvelous collection not only has value, but tells a wonderful story!
