German composer (1812-1883) chiefly remembered for his opera Martha, which was popular in the 19th century. Intricate AMQS, signed “Fr. von Flotow,” on an off-white 10 x 7.25 sheet. Flotow pens five bars of music and lyrics from the second act of his 1852 opera Indra, signed at the conclusion and dated July 14, 1873. In fine condition, with a bisecting vertical fold, small pencil notation to top left, and some scattered light toning and soiling to edges.
