Frenzy (Universal, 1972). Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14"). Alfred Hitchcock returned to his native England for a thriller about a serial killer strangling London women with neck ties. The film also marked Hitchcock's return to the story of "the wrong man." Jon Finch plays the Cary Grant/Henry Fonda role, a man suspected of murder when his ex-wife turns up dead. The marketing emphasized the "shocking" aspects of the film, and the reference to "Psycho" is made even more explicit by the screaming woman at the center of the swirling poster art. On these lobby cards, the photos have lost none of their gloss, with even the black areas unfaded. The corners and edges are still crisp, so aside from scratches in the bottom left corner of the first card, the set looks incredibly clean and certainly never used. Near Mint/Mint.
