French hand-painted porcelain orientalist movement inkstand With pseudo Chantilly printed mark, late 19th century. The rectangular plateau base with brass foliate motif surround elevated on paw feet and hand-painted and gilded with prunus tree and tiger and supporting two partridge motif inkwells with hinged lids and brass interiors which flank a central standing male figure in Turkish costume holding a large shell (figure mc fingers and sword handle, shell hck).Length 38 cm.
