Accompanied by consignor notes that states bought in New Orleans and was one of a pair; family would sell only one; consignor also notes “Gillier” marked as maker (Antoine Gillier (1681-1757)) of either of the whole gun or the barrel; reportedly well-known maker who worked atthe St. Etienne Arsenal and for the Tissot family (1740-1750).
