French and Indian War/Revolutionary War Era Flintlock Musket

This is an example of an American made flintlock musket using a French Model 1728 lock and a French 1720-1740 brass trigger guard made during the French and Indian/Revolutionary War Era. There are no visible markings other than a partial three digit number on the left breech end of the barrel. Blade front sight and mounted with a full walnut straight grip stock with a brass buttplate. The buttplate tang is crudely punch dot marked "TM" and the iron ramrod is a replacement.

Fair. The metal surfaces have a dark brown patina. The stock is also fair with a large repaired break on the toe showing large cracks. There is also another 1 inch crack at the butt. The buttplate is bent at the toe and there are a few minor dents. There is an old repair at the wrist and some shallow gouges on the forearm. The hammer is loose, however the action functions correctly.
