This painting on canvas attached to a board, once graced an 18th Century French trumeau. The frame which is carved wood and which has traces of gilt, is a putty-terre verte color. The painting, which has been carefully restored, shows an urn of flowers surrounded by other flora and fauna, it a style reminiscent of Fragonard. The dimensions of the frame are 29-1/2" x 18-3/4", while the hour glass shaped painting measures approximately 23" x 14". This piece was acquired from an estate on Maryland's historic Eastern Shore.
