<Our item number 135964><B>French Officer&#39;s Flintlock Holster Pistol.</B> Circa 1750-1770. 8 inch.58 cal. octagon-to-round steel barrel with light floral engraving near breech and gilded &#40;approximately 30% gilding remains in engraved areas&#41;. Chiseled and engraved steel furniture. Lock unsigned but engraved with flowing scrolls. Stock is solid with high relief decorative carving throughout and silver wire inlay on the top of wrist in flowing scrolls. Normal scratches and dings from years of service. May have seen service in the French and Indian War, 1757-1763, and the American Revolution, 1776-1783. 13¾ inch overall length. A nice example in good working order.
