French Letter, Dated 1704
A letter written in an old style of French, with wax seal remnants, signed "Rober" (?), dated September 7, 1704. The sender, recipient, and nature of the letter are unidentified. It appears to be addressed to: "Monsieur Morneuis (?) De Blondelor (?), Chevalier de S. Louis"; and then, "A Bas le Duc (?)." The first lines appear to possibly speak of a case/deal that has failed, that he has done/set up what he was able (?); refers to giving something to Monsieur Alexandre, and refers to his son and a promise of/from Luy; something recommended/registered from Luy (?); and further, of Chamillan, Mons de Louis (?); the return from Fontainebleau; that he will give news (?), and that he goes to the country for about a month. 5 1/4" x 7 1/2". With creases from original folding, some losses to edges, but overall good.
