Made circa late 18th, early 19th century, this half-stock fowling piece features a Damascus barrel with simple gold inlaid designs on the tang, breech end (three designs) and around the front sight as well as three gold inlaid bands around the muzzle. Brass blade front sight and no provisions for a rear sight. The hammer, lock, frizzen, and flash pan are iron with the lock marked "Parie" in decorative script and the side of the hammer has a simple floral engraved design. The buttplate, trigger, trigger guard and left side plate are silver plated brass with ornate deep relief engraving. The stock has a checkered forearm and wrist as well as a carved animal head on the bottom of the buttstock. The checkering on the wrist covers the balance of the wrist. The iron ramrod has a decorative tip and is secured by 3 silver pipes (2 attached to the bottom of the barrel).

Very good. The barrel has a mottled gray patina and shows almost all the crisp Damascus pattern. The iron parts have a smooth gray patina. The trigger guard and buttplate show a small amount of exposed brass, otherwise the silver has an aged patina. The buttplate has 2 small cracks and a number of minor dents. The stock is good with above stated exception with a small crack extending 1 1/2 inches ahead of the lock and scattered minor dings and dents. The buttplate was modified during period of usage. The lock marking is crisp and clear. The action is fine.
