Late 18th to early 19th century gorgeous ornate gilt carved dressing screen from France has three glass covered hand colored engravings in the top portion of each panel. Title "La Soiree' D' Hyvel", "Le Coucher" and "La Promenade Du Soir",the engravers name lower right of each with the date of 1774. The bottom padded panels as well as back are covered in a rich brocade floral stripe in shades of pink, yellow gold, green, rose and off white, edged in off white gemp. The bottom back panels are recessed giving an extra design dimension due to the thickness of the glass covered engravings. This fabric has obviously been replaced in recent years as the original would have been well worn. Three different gilt carved designs on top of each framed engraving. Excellent condition. Measures 42L X 60H X 1D. Three 13.75 panels hinged with original brass hinges.
