Offered to you in this lot is a set of five antique Gien faience desert plates, originating from "The Golden Age" of Faiencerie De Gien between 1860 and 1871. The plates come from a series, titled; "La Morale En Action", translating to "Morality in action" - Each plate depicts a unique scene, all accompanied by a title, and series number. Framing each scene, there is an exceptionally ornate floral scheme, with crossing borders, elegant frames, and gorgeous floral pedals wrapping around each plate. Additionally, the plates show subtle scalloped edges, accenting the motif of the plates well. The plates are in good condition overall, showing slight wear around the edges, and bottoms. Each plate measures 8".
