This oval dining table in French Empire or Louis XVI style with magnificent burled veneer dates from the early 20th century. Measures 30 3/4" high, 47 1/2" wide and 61 7/8" (5' 1 7/8") long without leaf and 85 3/8" (7' 1 3/8") long with single leaf in place. Brass mounts at each leg feature acanthus leafy designs with acorn or similar motif in center. The entire skirt is decorated with a repeating scrolling wreath motif with beaded border in brass. Brass rings decorate the upper leg and the leg tips as well. Shown here both with and without single original leaf.

Additional images forwarded upon request.

This table was refinished, possibly up to 20-40 years ago or longer. Since then there have been a few noticeable chips from the burled top veneer. There are a number of places where the burled veneer has crackled, consistent with its age. A couple of the upper brass mounts on the legs are loose and simply require reinforcement via small nails. Table is structurally sound.
