French Deleze Flintlock Pistol with Relief Carved Stock
Produced in Libourne, a commune in southwest France, originally established by the English during their occupation of the region. Blade sight, with flats on the top and sides near the breech. The lock plate is marked "I* DELEZE" in an arc following the flashpan, with "LIBOVRNE" underneath, with raised borders on the lock and hammer, and a raised burning grenade design on the frizzen. Full length stock, with raised borders, scrollwork on either side just behind the ramrod, a cut-through scroll pattern reverse plate, and a flared buttcap with long tangs.
