French Composer Charles F. Gounod Autograph Letter Signed “C. H. Gounod”. One page, 4.5” x 7”, dated April 17, 1885, in French. Charles Francois Gounod (1818-1893) was a French composer best known for his operas Faust and Romeo et Juliette. This letter, loosely translated, is to an admirer who had left some verses at Gounod's house which he hoped Gounod would set to music. The letter has a narrow strip of tape running the entire length of the reverse side at the fold, and has some old fold creases, else it is in very good condition.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
