Beautiful French bronze sanctuary light holder or fixture,18th to early 19th century used in front of an alter can well be respected for the inteded use and beauty but enjoyed currently as a candle or plant holder. Every piece including each bronze ring was hand forged. Slight difference in the size of each loop due to this fact. Top leaf design canopy with hook and finial progresses to the long chains with 6 bronze intermittent balls. Solid ring below would hold a candle or small plant. The main ornate capsule flanked by three delicate birds on all sides has Latin raised wording surrounding the lip. Larger finial and loop at bottom. Aged nicely with beautiful patina. Measures 7D to hold a good size pot or large candle,7L X 35H.
