A true work of art that is both decorative and functional.A genuine antique piece.

We are pleased to offer a truly magnificent antique French art nouveau lamp. A sinuos female in typical art nouveau attire supports a mother of pearl fan above her head. The lady's robe spreads out from her body to form the base of the lamp which is then screwed to a wooden base.
To the base is both a foundry mark which indicates the French origin of this piece as well as the stylized signature of the creature. We beliece this to be J. Chaussé who is a Bénézit listed artist and who worked until around 1900.
The metal work is in excellent condition as is the wooden base. The mother of pearl shade has, been cracked and repaired (probably someone put a stronger bulb than intented in the lamp) and would appear to have very minor losses on the left hand side (looking on). Fortunately, these minor imperfections do not remove from the true magnificance of this functional work of art.
The original wiring hole was not used when the previous owner had the lamp rewired.
