UK pressing of Tons of Sobs, the debut album by Free, signed on the inner gatefold next to their respective images in black felt tip by Paul Rodgers, Paul Kossoff, Andy Fraser, and Simon Kirke. In very good condition, with light creasing, wear and partial separation to the spine, and an ownership notation on the inner facing panel. The record is not included. Consignor notes that the signatures were obtained at the Locarno (also known as the Mecca) in Sunderland, England on September 12, 1969. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks and by a letter of provenance from the original recipient: “Free were playing at the Mecca ballroom in Sunderland (locally known as the Fillmore of the North East) this was 1969 I was there that night and had bought the album ‘Tons Of Sobs’ for my then girlfriend and took it with me to the gig with the intention of getting it signed, having met and got to know the band from earlier gigs. We spent some time together after the show also in the company was Marc Bolan and whispering Bob Harris (from Old Grey Whistle Test). It was a good night! This was a time when things were less complicated.”
