Free French Fighter Aces with the R.A.F
Free French Fighter Aces with the R.A.F. Collection of about 23 items: signed and unsigned photos and A.Ls.S., and T.Ls.S., in English and French, variously. Dramatic accounts of the pilots, describing a probable strafing of Rommel's command car (with large ink drawing of area) on a Normandy road; of dogfight between French Curtiss planes and German Dorniers; of pilots whose parachutes failed to open and who died in the sky tied to their planes. Graphic descriptions of Dunkirk, the Battle of Britain: "140 Spitfire sorties over enemy territory." Pilot Camille Plubeau: "May and June 1940 we often had to fight twice daily. Many of my comrades didn't survive." Claude Raoul-Duval writes, "...My very best achievement was to survive...." André Gibert tells of fighting over Dieppe, and on D-Day, June 6, 1944. Request detailed list. Very fine.
