Prime Minister of Great Britain from 1770 to 1782. He led Great Britain through most of the American Revolution. Manuscript DS, signed “North,” one page, 9.5 x 14.5, May 19, 1764. An order for funds for Philip Stanhope, fourth Earl of Chesterfield. Signed along the right side by North, and countersigned by several others. Diagonal ink stroke through text of document, scattered toning and light staining, scattered edge wear and tear, and a few small areas of paper loss, otherwise very good condition.
