<B>Frederick Benteen 7th Cavalry Partially Printed Document Signed,</B></I> "<I>F.W. Benteen</B></I>" and countersigned "<I>Elmer Otis</B></I>", one page with docketing, Fort Rice, Dakota Territory, April 25, 1878. A SPECIAL REQUISITIONS form with Benteen's signature above his designation as "Captain 7th Cavalry". Benteen commanded a battalion engaged in scouting duty at Little Bighorn and was himself wounded. Known to detest the foppish Custer, he was suspected of intentionally not coming to his superior's aid. Elmer Otis was the Lt. Colonel who succeeded Custer as commander of the 7th Cavalry. Light even toning, fine condition.
