American artist (1861–1909) best known for his paintings and sculptures of the American West, and for his depictions of cowboy life in particular. ALS, one page, 5 x 6, personal letterhead, no date. Letter to Alexander. In full: “Can you without too much trouble send me a card for self & wife to Arts Club—I want to see your paintings!” In fine condition, with a bit of trivial soiling, and a mild shade of uniform toning. A crisp example with excellent art association.
