American artist (1861–1909) best known for his paintings and sculptures of the American West ALS, one page, 4.75 x 7.75, personal letterhead, no date but postmarked December 11, 1901. Letter to Louis Shipman of New York. In part: “I have got to make a little trip over to Greenport about bronzes Thursday afternoon and will just about make the 4 o’clock train.” In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
