An original Australian pressing of Livestock by Fraternity, released in 1971 on Sweet Peach Records (catalog number SP 12005). Fraternity was an Australian progressive rock band best known for featuring Bon Scott, who would later rise to international fame as the frontman of AC/DC.
This album showcases Scott on lead vocals, with the band blending rock, blues, and progressive influences into a distinctive early ’70s sound. The tracklist includes songs such as “Livestock,” “Cool Spot,” “Jupiter’s Landscape,” and “You Have a God,” highlighting both Scott’s commanding voice and the group’s adventurous arrangements.
The record was produced by J. Stewart & D. Ashdown and engineered by Spencer Lee in Sydney, with additional mixing by Harold Lee in Nashville, USA. The striking cover design was created by Hylton Hibbert and reflects the unique underground rock aesthetic of the early ’70s Australian scene.
An important collectible for fans of AC/DC and Bon Scott, Livestock stands as a key piece of Scott’s pre-AC/DC career and a rare example of Australian rock history on the Sweet Peach label.
