AMQS on an off-white 9.75 x 7.5 musically-lined sheet. Liszt pens the opening twelve bars of his arrangment of Wielhorsky's song "Autrefois!", on four two-stave systems, marked "agitato", containing a different version of the accompanying arpeggios for the left hand from that found in the current published version. This manuscript contains the opening of the original version of Liszt's arrangement of Wielhorsky's romance. Signed at the bottom, “F. Liszt,” and dated July 28, 1849. He composed the work in 1842 and had it published by Jurgenson in Moscow in 1843. Liszt revised it around 1860. Reverse bears an AMQS by Seymour Shiff dated December 22, 1849. In fine condition, with a mild overall shade of toning, heavier to the edges, and a couple of light notations. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
