Fred Meijer of the Rijksbureau voor kunsthistorische Documentatie for the identification of the rare painter. Acc. to Drs. Meijer's reconstruction of the artist's life, Cuyck de Myerhope was born into a noble family in Bruges, emigrated to the Netherlands, and became the dean of the Ghent painter's guild between 1679 - 1686, as well as dean of several of that city's merchant's guilds.
