Two TLSs individually from Franklin D. Roosevelt and Eleanor Roosevelt, individually signed “F.D.R.” and “Eleanor Roosevelt.” The FDR letter, October 2, 1929, personal State of New York letterhead, sent to his friend Basil O'Connor regarding a potential land purchase. In part: "In regard to the Dutchess Hill property, which was the last of the two places we looked at and which we both liked…there were only about 30 acres in the place, which makes the acreage price very high, but the house is pretty substantial and comfortable, even though not an architectural gem.” The Eleanor letter, August 5, 1959, personal letterhead, sent to Mr. Kinsburg and thanking him “for the lovely flowers.” In overall fine condition.

Accompanied by a vintage 10 x 8 photo of a group of gentlemen, including O'Connor, presenting a $1,000,000 check to Roosevelt, signed and inscribed to O'Connor by Keith Morgan; a 1934 TLS to O'Connor requesting a facsimile of an earlier check presented to Roosevelt; a 1935 telegram to O'Connor from Eleanor Roosevelt; and a commemorative cover with a cachet honoring the Presidential Library and Museum in Hyde Park.
