Dinsmore, Keene, NH reads in part: ''…Your kind invitation to address the Democrats…has just been handed to me. I deeply regret that it will not be in my power…on account of a slight cold and weakness of the lungs…Yr. friend & serv’t., Frank. Pierce.'' Ink letter and integral cover measures 7.75'' x 9.75''.
