These ingots were packaged in cachets - envelopes with stamps that were postmarked on the 200th anniversary of the event shown on the ingot. This is one of a number of combined medal-stamp sets known as Medallic Commemorative Covers, but this set has the largest silver ingots.
Each of the 70 Sealed Ingots detail 70 individual events of the Revolutionary War, from the Boston Tea Party on December 16, 1773 to the Surrender of The British at Yorktown, Virginia on October 19 1781. Originally distributed between 1973 and 1981.
Each Ingots has been delivered to the same address to Dr. Anthony Joseph Andenno. With his passing on Saturday at 90 years of age, the Belding resident and beloved family doctor leaves behind a mark on the community that all residents can embrace with pride. After his time in the military, Andenno earned his medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and became a doctor. He moved to Belding in 1960 and found the community he wanted to call home.
