For your consideration are five Franklin Library leather bound and gilt, autobiography books of various notable people throughout history, presented by The Franklin Library circa 1976-1983. The books in this collection are autobiographies of various notable people such as Henry Adams, Benjamin Franklin and Booker T. Washington to name a few. They show beautiful colors of leather binding and various designs of gold gilt on the spines and front covers. The edges of the paper are also gilted in gold color. The books in this collection are as follows - "Up From Slavery" by Booker T. Washington, "The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin" by Benjamin Franklin edited by John Bigelow, "Essays" by Michel de Montaigne translated by Donald M. Frame, "Sons Come and Go, Mothers Hang in Forever" by William Saroyan and "The Education of Henry Adams" by Henry Adams. The books show good condition overall with little to no wear present and no signs of damage. They measure from 8 5/8" L x 6 1/4" W x 1 1/16" D to 9 5/16" L x 6 1/2" W x 1 5/8" D and have a collective weight of 9 pounds and 5 ounces.
