Signed book: Proceedings at the Ceremony in Commemoration of the One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the Commencement of the United States under the Constitution. Washington, DC: Government Printing Office, 1939. Hardcover, 6 x 9.25, 47 pages. Signed and inscribed on the first free end page to his eldest son, "James, form FDR, 1939." Also signed on the rear endpaper, "From the Library of James Roosevelt." In very good to fine condition, with wear and chipping to the slightly loose spine.

These books were specially bound to be presented as Christmas gifts by FDR: while the exact the number of copies produced remains unknown, it is one of the scarcest of the Christmas book series. The eldest son of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, James Roosevelt served in the Marine Corps during World War II and received the Navy Cross for his extraordinary heroism. He went on to serve in Congress for a decade as a representative from California. An extraordinary presentation volume from father to son.
