TLS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, October 19, 1928. Letter to "Bertie," a childhood friend of Roosevelt and the wife of prominent Massachusetts lawyer and former Chair of the Federal Reserve Charles Sumner Hamlin, in full: "I am on my long route through the State, six railroad stops yesterday, ending with a huge meeting at Binghamton, today sixty miles by motor but only three meetings. Tomorrow we go 180 miles to Jamestown with flocks of meetings all the way. I wish you and Charlie were here to campaign for me. It is going to be a close fight for you know what New York State does in a presidential year. However, it is rare good fun to be back in action again. I had almost forgotten the thrill of it." In fine condition, with a few light stains, and two rusty paperclip marks along the left edge.
