Franklin D. Roosevelt WWII typed letter signed as President. Dated 6 May, 1942, letter on White House stationery is labeled ''Personal'' in type. Addressed to the Honorable Lester Hill of the United States Senate, letter reads in full, ''Dear Lister: Ever so many thanks for sending me John Temple Graves' column in answer to Felix Morley's article in the 'Saturday Evening Post'. Morley is either deliberately writing stuff which rejoices the heart of Hitler or he is a theoretical dreamer who ought not to write at all. With every best wish, Always sincerely, [signed] F.D.R.'' Accompanied by White House envelope and the magazine containing the article in question. Single-page letter on card style stationery measures 7'' x 8.75''. Creasing, else fine.
